Apple Cider Skillet

There’s nothing more “fall” than apple cider (except pumpkin spice of course). This one-skillet meal delivers all the cozy fall flavors you love with minimal effort.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4–5 chicken thighs, bone in and skin on, 1 1/2 pounds
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 3–4 baking apples, 1 1/2 pounds, see notes
  • 1 red onion, 10 ounces
  • 1 cup Bonafide Provisions Chicken Broth
  • 3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 Teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh thyme, or 1 Teaspoon dried

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Season chicken and add to oven safe pan on medium heat. Add chicken thighs to pan skin side down and cook until golden brown, then turn to the other side. About 8 minutes.
  3. Remove chicken thighs from pan and add the onions and apples. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Then add Bonafide Provisions chicken broth to the pan.
  4. Add the honey, mustard, salt, pepper and thyme to the pan and stir to incorporate.
  5. Add chicken back to the pan and spoon some of the sauce on top of the chicken thighs.
  6. Place pan into the oven and bake until chicken is done, about 25-30 minutes.
  7. Remove and enjoy!

“I started drinking bone broth a few years back when I was desperate to get my health back in order. It’s now a staple in our home… On the weeks where I am feeling a little less inclined to make my own, I really enjoy @bonafideprovisions.”
