Bone Broth is a beverage that has been consumed for thousands of years throughout different cultures. This nutrient-dense broth is made from the bones of animals using water, bones, vegetables, and apple cider vinegar.
A true bone broth uses just bones, no meat, and is slow simmered for no less than 18 hours to ensure maximum collagen and nutrient content.
Our broth is frozen immediately after it’s made to preserve nutrients at their peak. We never use preservatives of any kind.
There’s a reason grandmothers across the world simmered soup on their stoves for their loved ones with ailments. We’ve seen the healing properties of bone broth firsthand, as I used bone broth both to heal my son's chronic illness and treat thousands of nutrition clients across North America.
With more than 70% of your immune system residing in your gut, it is the most logical place to start when healing the body. Bone Broth contains amino acids, most notably proline and glycine, which help support cell walls. This is beneficial for those looking to support a healthy gut. Additionally, it's an excellent source of bioavailable collagen which helps support healthy hair, skin, nails, and joints.
We freeze our broth to preserve nutrients at their peak. This is how bone broth has been made and stored for hundreds of years and we are committed to staying as true as possible to the cooking methods of our ancestors.
All of our beef bones are from organic, grassfed cattle. They are raised with minimal interference and are allowed to roam freely in green pastures.
Yes! All our bone broths and our chicken vegetable soup are Whole30-approved.
All our products are certified organic, with the exception of our Frontier Blend.
Although our Frontier Blend is not certified organic it actually reaches beyond the requirements of what even organic requires. Because the availability of organic lamb and bison bones is limited, they are not certified organic however all of the lamb and bison bones come from 100% pasture-raised animals and independently owned small family farms. They are raised with minimal interference and they are never given antibiotics or hormones. They have full access to pasture for the entirety of their lives and the farmers who raise them follow strict and stringent humane animal welfare practices.
How To Use
One of the most beautiful things about bone broth is that it's versatile. Our favorite way to use it is just as it is, warmed up in a mug. Bone Broth makes a fantastic alternative to coffee or tea. Not only that, but its protein content makes it an excellent choice for a snack between meals. We love using our bone broth as a base for our soups, stews, and sauces. It's also a great nutrient-rich substitution for water in smoothies, when making rice and pasta; you can even add it to cocktails! Try out one of our Bonafide recipes today!
Our bone broth is good defrosted in the refrigerator for up to 7 days, whether it is unopened or not.
The amount of broth you drink can depend on the reasons you are drinking it! If you are using it to maintain health and wellness, we recommend drinking 6-8 ounces per day. If you are using it to address more chronic, serious issues, we recommend using upwards of 24 ounces per day. Please always consult your health care practitioner to determine which protocol works best for your bio-individuality.
FROM FROZEN: For best results, remove your bone broth from freezer and thaw in refrigerator for 24 hours. Once defrosted open and poor desired amount of broth into a small stockpot. Heat over medium heat until you reach a simmer, stirring occasionally.
QUICK THAW: Place your frozen bone broth - still sealed in plastic bag - in a bowl or sink of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes, or until it can be broken into pieces. Open the bag; invert contents into a small stockpot and follow above instructions.
We always recommend using a stovetop to gently heat your bone broth. We understand that convenience doesn’t always allow for that, so as long as you’re using a microwave safe dish, it is fine to heat your broth on a low setting.
We have had lab testing done on our broths for heavy metal and lead content, and there are no detectable levels of lead in any of our broths.
This labeling is required by the USDA because the USDA does not currently recognize bones as an approved ingredient. Unlike other brands, we do not and will never add extra filler broth to our recipe. When making our broth we ONLY use bones, triple-filtered water, apple cider vinegar, and select herbs and spices.
When collagen cools it turns into gelatin. This jello-like quality of our broth is evidence that it's contains collagen and it's something we're very proud of. It's our mission to ensure that every batch of broth is collagen rich, which is why we've obsessively tested our ingredients and preparation methods.
Over the years, salt has gotten a bad rap. It's not salt that is the problem, but the quality of salt. This is why we use Selina Celtic Sea Salt. Celtic Sea Salt is a sun and air dried sea salt that is mined from pristine european waters. It retains up to 75 of it's naturally occurring minerals. This results in a salt that is actually good for you. Celtic sea salt provides minerals and electrolytes while helping the body to maintain proper levels of chloride, copper, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.
